Pacer Endurance Sports Tri Club Code of Conduct

Mission Statement: 

Live Full & Be Positive

As a member of Pacer Endurance Sports Tri Club, we believe in living life to the fullest and embodying positivity in all aspects. We encourage our members to prioritize the most important elements of life, such as faith, family, friends, mental health and sport. By doing so, we aim to create a supportive community where athletes can thrive both on and off event course.

Making Time For What's Important

We encourage our members to live life to the fullest by making time for the things that are important to them such as any personal faith, cherishing families, maintaining ones mental health and cultivating meaningful connections with those around. We engage in sport as a way to positively impact these areas.

Positive Mindset

Each member should consistently demonstrate positivity in our interactions with fellow club members and the broader community. Through our actions, we aim to inspire and uplift others in a way to make their day better. When at events team members represent the team by encouraging others before, during, and after the event.

Uplifting Our Community

Our purpose is to build a close-knit community of athletes who feel connected to something greater than being an individual amongst the crowd. We give back through our actions and our words and those around us know we are living out our mission. We go against the grain so when people view our team from the outside in, they see a difference in the way we show up and interact.

Collaborative Accountability

We hold ourselves and each other accountable for our actions and decisions. This includes taking responsibility for our behavior both within and outside the team activities, and working towards personal growth and improvement. As a team we're focused on training together and racing together.

Celebrating Success

We stand together, supporting one another in our individual journeys while striving to push one another to our best. We recognize and celebrate the achievements of our members, no matter how big or small. We are a team of varied tenure and ability

​In times of adversity, we are there to lift each other up. Whether through words of encouragement, a helping hand, or simply being present, we are committed to being a source of support for our fellow members.

Team Member Engagement Requirements

 

While we are all busy athletes you are here because you want to be a part of something more than just individually racing on our own. As a team member you're committing to a level of engagement and representation of the team while gaining the benefits that come along with being in the group. 

What does it mean to be actively engaged in the group on a consistent basis? We recognizing everyone has other important commitments in their lives. These requirements are based on what we've seen be successful with members in the past.

  • Members must participate in at least 6 team activities in the year (Race, team race, training sessions either in person or virtual, social connections and volunteering) Participation can also be through regular engagement in our club chat.  We require this in order to ensure team members know each other and is in line with our purpose to "train together, race together."
     

  • Club communication requires a google account for team chat. Participation in team activities is also seen through engagement in our team chat. It can be achieved through reactions to posts, comments, offers for training connections, pre and post race highlights, photos, etc. Engagement is key to successful team members and frequent engagement on the team chat can equate to 1 - 2 team activities completed in the year.
     

  • Examples of minimum participation:

    • Athlete A

      • Races 3 times in team gear

      • Joins 2 training sessions (in person or virtual)

      • Joins 1 social event

      • Engages in team chat bi weekly
         

    • Athlete B

      • Races 2 time in team gear​

      • Joins 1 training sessions (in person or virtual)

      • Joins 1 social event

      • Volunteers at a race

      • Engages in team chat bi weekly
         

    • Athlete C

      • ​Races 1 time in team gear​​​

      • Joins 4 training sessions (in person or virtual)

      • Engages in team chat on a weekly basis sharing training progress, questions, comments and reactions

  • All members must participate in one designated team race in the year.  (Racing if healthy or spectating as a support team if necessary). We will plan this race based on where the majority of team members are already planning on racing.

  • Represent Pacer Endurance Sports Tri Club in each triathlon event you do during the year. Being a part of a team means also representing the team in the events you do. As a club member it is expected that you will purchase a either a team tri kit to use and represent the club while competing in any triathlon event. An acceptable alternative is racing in the matching t-shirt offered through our kit provider. Kit's range anywhere from $180 - $240 depending on tyle and style. The t-shirt is approximately $75

  • Engagement is not only how we interact with each other but how you, as a team member, represent the team in and around the sport. Following the club code of conduct, representing the team at all times in a positive way while in the public eye. How you interact with other athletes, the race staff at events, the volunteers and fans matters. Those who experience our team at any point in time should walk away with the perspective that something is different with our team, because it is, we care about how we treat the entire community.

Non Abuse

Members shall not engage in behavior that may threaten or appear to threaten other individuals both in the club or non club members, Nor shall members create a hostile environment at club events or events where members are participating at. Members shall refrain from inappropriate language or unsportsmanlike conduct toward club members or other participants at sporting events.  Members will refrain from harassing, intimidating or threatening activities, but not limited to, other members.

No Substance Abuse

Members shall not participate in events while impaired by illegal substances. Members choosing to drink alcoholic beverages at social events must do so responsibly.

No Illegal Activities

Members shall not cause or participate in any illegal activity as defined by local, state, or federal law while participating acting as a member of the Pacer Endurance Sports Tri Club

Consequences of Violations

Violation of this code of conduct may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspension, or, in severe cases, expulsion from the team. Any decisions regarding consequences will be made by the team leadership in consultation with affected parties. All decisions are final and no refunds or reimbursements of money spent as a result of being a part of the team will be given.

Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience behavior that goes against the principles outlined in this code of conduct, we encourage you to report it to the club leadership. Your concerns will be taken seriously and addressed promptly and confidentially.

Acknowledgment

By becoming a member of Pacer Endurance Sports Tri Club you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and Team Engagement expectations. We believe that living by these principles will not only enhance your experience within the club, but also contribute to the positive growth of our community.  Team leadership reserves the right to remove anyone from the team at anytime who fails to fulfill the requirements and expectations of the commitments above. No refund or reimbursement for annual dues or other purchases of team kits, or gear will be given if removal is done.
